The National Sales Manager is responsible for achieving the Performance Team Sales and Gross Profit Objectives by selling AlliedPRA's outstanding service to corporate and association clients. This position develops a client base, designs events with Experience Designers, and builds long term client relationships.



  • Develop client base through leads from assigned markets, hoteliers, prospecting, referrals, etc.
  • Work with Experience Designers to ensure completion of program development according to client specifications and budget.
  • Ensure that all proposals and other sales correspondence are correct before being presented to a client.
  • Finalize and close program contracts with clients, arranging for program deposit and signed contracts.
  • Qualify leads and develop program ideas for leads.
  • Arrange and conduct Site Inspections for clients, entertain clients and develop a personal rapport with them.
  • Quantify projected budgets (revenue and gross profits) from programs and enter into Salesforce for revenue tracking purposes.
  • Develop travel budgets and schedules for appropriate approval as well as monitoring client marketing budget.
  • Initiate sales calls and follow up.
  • Represent AlliedPRA at key association and industry groups through membership and active participation.
  • Update hoteliers and clients on a regular basis on new venues, services and destinations.
  • Be available during program for client contact.
  • Initiate a tracking method to respond to all referral leads from hotels and clients.
  • Work with Experience Designers and Event Producers to meet client expectations and create memorable customer experiences.
  • Ensure that sales/gross profit goals are met and clients' programs exceed their expectations.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable of industry trends and developments.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

  • 5 or more years experience in sales, specifically in a DMC, incentive travel, event management or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality & Tourism, Business Management, Marketing, Communication, or related degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of client development including cold calls, lead follow up, qualifying the client, proposal presentation.
  • Knowledge of program design and development, from inception through contract.
  • Proven ability to meet sales goals consistently.
  • Ability to provide solutions and/or resources to challenges/opportunities that may arise during the development and sale of programs.
  • Must be able to unravel, define and document complex program requirements.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain strong supplier/partner relations at venue and community locations.
  • Must be able to negotiate with supplier/partners on behalf of clients for best locations, terms, etc.
  • Must be able to professionally represent AlliedPRA at client meetings, site inspections, industry and association functions, supplier/partner meetings, and staff meetings.
  • Expertly proficient in Excel, Word, formatting, Photoshop, and other software.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret client proposal requirements, RFPs, contracts, financial reports, and other legal documents.
  • Must be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, supplier/partners, and co-workers.
  • Must be able to prepare reports, write business correspondence, and develop and write proposals and sales reports.
  • Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supplier partners, and hoteliers.
  • Must be able to calculate program costs, percentages, discounts, profit margins, and perform other mathematical requirements involved in a proposal.
  • Must be able to prepare sales reports, using complex calculations, for sales meetings and client presentations.

This position is frequently required to travel within the local destination market to which assigned. The following requirements apply:

  • Ability to travel to program sites, greet clients, participate in multi-day site inspections with sales managers and clients.
  • Ability to travel to other AlliedPRA office locations by vehicle, airplane.
  • Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle (personal, rental, or company).
  • Must have a current, valid driver's license for the state in which the employee performs his or her driving duties.
  • Must maintain a clean driving record, i.e., must remain insurable under our company's liability insurance policy.
